Simple clean lines and bold bulky wood furniture that screams sit on me.

I think plainer looking interiors with pops of color for decor is good.
Even just the words bright and colorful give me a headache.

I like… Low maintenance and comfy, which mostly means comfortable seating areas with lots of pillows and blankets, warm lighting, but not a lot of knickknacks and clutter.

My style is called "transitional". Basically modern design, with splashes of color, as you mentioned. I play a bit with white, vanilla, cream, and beige, and use all of them in the same room sometimes, and then add color with pillows and paintings...bright red, deep blue and gold.

I've mainly lived in old houses which lend themselves only to neutral or simple colour schemes. I use my books and my photos to bring colour to rooms 🙂

Okay, then you Paint 🎨 all the moulding or millwork around the windows & doorways, the baseboards, etc. in [c=009E4F]Bright[/c] [c=BF0000]Primary[/c] [c=003BB2]Color(s)[/c].

Paint the Door Green 🟩 and its Moulding Red ♥️, Baseboards 🔵, Window Frame 🟡, and Purple 🟣 Somewhere (Ceiling Fan Blades?)

Or add Bright Primary Coloured Headboard,
Rug, Curtains, Dresser, Chair, Accessories.

I think that in the design of the rooms in your house you should always use some interesting elements. For example, a fireplace can simply fit perfectly into the design of your home. at least when I got acquainted with these ideas https://www.decoreso.com/fireplace-mantel-ideas/ I realized that I just did not understand how to correctly place the fireplace in my living room, and as it turns out it can perfectly fit into the interior of the room.
