Why are toilet seats in public bathrooms U shaped but at home they are all round O ?

You literally just blew my mind.. I never noticed that 🤯

Its just a style that they choose to buy. Commercial toilets are usually made from the same manufacturer but are used by a wider variety of people so they are hooked up to higher pressure water and have seats that even the fattest person can sit on without clogging. Makes for easier maintenance.

For universal fit

I am guessing it is hoping not that the guys that don't life the seats will at least shoot straight and not pee on the toilet seat

i like the U shape better... i would get one for my home... but then again how often do you buy new toilet seats

It's for when men stand to pee, the gap is for pee to drop into rather than on the seat
