Does your family have a traditional meal on New Years Day to ring good luck?

For our family it's always been ham and beans with sweet cornbread.

"Good luck" is a sign of pagan ritual that I have become more aware of although I recognize it is often offered as a casual albeit empty gesture to be conversational and conventional. Personally, I avoid engaging in it.

In any case, we usually just have a meal together without any stipulation on what the food will necessarily be.
