Please explain the attraction of Disney theme parks?

It seems to be very much a primarily US culture thing.

Why are people who work there all called 'cast members' like they're agreeing as part of their employment contracts to be 'extras' in a Disney movie?

Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park (Disneyland Paris)

Asia:

Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea (Tokyo Disney Resort)
Hong Kong Disneyland
Shanghai Disneyland

thye get called extras,, to make them feel more connected
and I am preety suree there is clause in the contract that give Disny the right to use thier images unlimited
