Happy Christmas and a few happy birthday as well

PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
Happy holidays. It was instilled in me working in retail. We couldn’t assume everyone was celebrating Christmas. But even with that chapter well behind me, I say happy holidays in case I don’t see others before the new year. I just condense Christmas, new year’s, and any holiday being celebrated together. I’m lazy like that 😄

If I know what they celebrate then I wish then a Happy "xyz". If I dont then I wish them Happy Holidays which covers them all...not everyone has a religious holiday this timr of year. Thats fine, but if I dont know...then Happy Holidays covers the ones people do have. Even if I know the holiday they celebrate, Happy Holidays also covers New Years too... lets be honest we all like to abreviate things. Happy Holidays is two words...Happy "xyz" and Happy New Year is 6 words.
We all say "Bonnes fêtes". Christmas is just the occasion to get together, to be nice to each other, to celebrate childhood, the religious aspect concerns a minority of people now.

I just say "hi" and if i remember their name their name. I'm a man of few words irl.
Merry Christmas. If there's other specific holidays I'm aware of I'll just say that.

@HijabaDabbaDoo We are all different hey. I respect whatever term is used. My grandchildren say happy holidays.
@Perry1968 yeah, I'm not really pedantic with terms. Happy holidays is the more inclusive term but I don't think most actually care as much as people make out. Different strokes for different folks

@HijabaDabbaDoo Absolutely 👍

I may start by saying Happy Holiday, then add whatever if they seem uncomfortable about that.
