Premature Christmas

I appreciate that festivities start earlier every year with the shops and streets starting to look like a lights exhibition as early as October sometimes and that I should allow for December to be festivity central....but that being said....even when we get into the spirit in the first week of December how do we maintain that for a whole month? In my house growing up there wasn't a bauble nor fairy light to be seen before the 6th December. Bah humbug for 2 more days, then I'll dress as Father Christmas and sing your silly little carols.

I can't agree more!

(Christmas doesn't begin until Christmas Eve afternoon! (But obvs decorate a bit before that).

There are literally 12 days of Christmas and I'm sure almost everyone in the (English-speaking) western world knows a song about this very thing.

If it was all about having extra doses of Xmassy cheer I'd be in favour, but it's just about being sold more tat because profits is the only thing that matters any more.

I share the humbug

I haven't put up any decorations or lights yet. I will probably do it one day this week, if it stops raining
