Premature Christmas

I appreciate that festivities start earlier every year with the shops and streets starting to look like a lights exhibition as early as October sometimes and that I should allow for December to be festivity central....but that being said....even when we get into the spirit in the first week of December how do we maintain that for a whole month? In my house growing up there wasn't a bauble nor fairy light to be seen before the 6th December. Bah humbug for 2 more days, then I'll dress as Father Christmas and sing your silly little carols.
