It does seem like more people suffer from self-imposed stress, and forget the meaning of Christmas. But when one cannot find the light, one can be a light. It helps to smile at those around you, give them a friendly greeting, and show kindness. Some may not respond, but mostly, it spreads to others. :)

Abbs, make sure you watch the Christmas Eve midnight mass from St Pat's this year. It is excellent.
It's on ch 11 and, I'm sure, many streamers

@cherokeepatti Driving has gotten more stressful. One reason might be that the majority of people on the road are working, making some kind of delivery, and they're on the clock. I've read that some delivery drivers aren't even supposed to stop to use a restroom.

@Thrust I'd like to see it, if I can find the time.

I think some of it can be chalked up to the current state of the world, some (atleast for me) is because I'm getting older. Do you have any young people in your family? Seeing them might help....

I am noticing the opposite. In fact, it is the small joys that make Christmas special for me.

Yes it is sad. ☹
Im guessing they are like that all year tho eh?

@SStarfish I think so. I think that the chaos of Christmas magnifies all those traits.
@Oneofthestormboys no doubt
