Now that was the family Whatsapp conversation yesterday.

My wife has made the traditional (well nearly, since I got sober the fruit is soaked overnight in cranberry juice not sherry) iced fruit cake.

But then we got into the discussion of Tunis Cake - which was a family staple in my family when I grew up. McVitie's made the best one with the thickest chocolate and the best pink and yellow icing on top of that.

But my wife then admitted she'd never had one until she met me and both my daughter and son in law were "What are you on about?"

So obviously only us then 😂

I don’t mind the tiniest slither of it but it’s very rich. I hate Christmas pudding definitely.

[@dirannie] yes mam used to but a round christmas fruit cake from marks and sparks up too my dad passed she wold ice it herself and put on decoration was always nice and moist

Yes. Claxton Fruit Cake was a tradition at our house, but my grandmother's homemade fruit cake was better.
