@iamonfire696 I say that fully knowing that I baked my own batch of christmas cookies this year and ate some. I'm a hypocrite. 😋 Seriously those look good. I don't havethe patience to make that many different batches of cookies. Though I do make an effort to do cookie baking with a friend or someone on a saturday sometime in December as a tradition. This year, I just made shortbread cookies and a cookie with dates and almonds. I'm not a great baker tbh. I used to make gingerbread cookies and decorated them extravagantly into different pop culture people and have them guess who it is before they eat, but that was too much this year.
I do have a fun New Year's/Christmas tradition of making Tanghulu. It's a neat adventure with kids too, for them to dip fruit on a stick as long as you help them. Sugar glass fruit is so fun and yummy and pretty easy to make as long as you have a candy thermometer
@iamonfire696 I just posted a story about Tanghulu actually. It's a 2 to one ratio usually of 2 parts sugar to one part water, that I've found works the best, if that's helpful.
Aw! Making awesome memories with the kids. :) I have fond memories of cooking with my mother and grandmother.
@iamonfire696 When we installed ours they had to come back and recalibrate ours. The unit with the 8 burners and double oven below is propane, and the wall ovens are electric. It took them a while to get them to cook alike.
@iamonfire696 He did it. He is the cook/worked 18 months in France and Italy as student chef. He said the work is grueling , long hours, lots of stress, and thankless...but he was there to learn. As such he has pans and knives he would rather I (or anyone) not touch. He wanted a professional kitchen when we remodeled the farm house. Big counters, under cabinet lighting, lots of plugs, 2 sinks...The ladies (his cousins and aunts) all come here to cook together for the holidays. The fridge is huge . I never thought it could be filled up but I was wrong. It can be.
That all looks mouth-wateringly good and I am dazzled by your energy, to bake so many different delicious things AND take them to family and friends. I would be very impressed even if you were not dealing with all the health issues you face! You really are amazing 🤩 Also, I will have the butter tarts please. Yes all of them 😋😉
@SW-User it took me awhile. I would bake one or two things everyday. Whether I had it packaged up I took my kids and they delivered it for me while we drove around.
