I Love Christmas

How can I not?

Jesus (5BC-ish, observed day)
Orlando Gibbons (1573)
Sir Isaac Newton (1642)
Humphrey Bogart (1899)
Annie Lennox (1954)
Justin Trudeau (1971) (AND his younger brother, in 1973, apparently)
@Harriet03 's mum
Me (199-something)

All born on Christmas Day.

How can I not love it?
(Although my mercenary nature is put out by the considerable lack of present-receiving opportunities the rest of the year...)

I think we should celebrate Newtonmass, seems appropriate.

Nature and Nature's laws lay hid in night:
God said, "Let Newton be!" and all was light.

I'll think of some appropriate alternative lyrics for a carol, maybe...

@SW-User Oh but I love carols!

@Murmurs

Once in a small East Anglian city,
Stood a lowly apple tree.
Where a scientist sat contemplating,
While an apple fell on his knee,
Cambridge was that dreary place,
Isaac Newton had a smug face.

To the tune of Once in royal Davids city, (sort of)

@SW-User I don't usually mention this unless asked, because some people (unfairly; it's just a fact) take it to be boasting, but I went to Oxford. I heartily approve of describing Cambridge as dreary 👍️

@Murmurs I used to live there, fen bog looks nice but is dreary.

@Harriet03 Hahaha

Reminds me of a thing from an episode of the Goon Show:

Eccles:
Oh, yeah! And I'll get it [the job of BBC announcer] too, you'll see! I'm wearing a Cambridge tie!

Greenslade:
You? You were at Cambridge?

Eccles:
Yeah!

Greenslade:
What were you doing there?

Eccles:
Buying a tie.
