Anyone else not looking forward to your regular Christmas get together with family this year?

I'm not, but I'll fake it for the kids.

These days I never look forward to it. I have lingering memories of really big extended family get-togethers when I was single-digit age before my parents got divorced in 1980, but most of my extended family is die-hard born-again fundy Christian types so now in 2025 I have no contact with any relo's or want to have contact with them. They don't try to find and contact me either, probably because the see me as a 'non-believer' in the Cult of Christ.

My three adult kids live several hours drive away, and this year I don't have my 8 y/o daughter for Christmas eve or day.

So far I'll be on my own on Thursday (25th).
