It is interesting though, I can take my dogs hunting or I can shoot a squirrel and they are completely unfazed by the gunshots, but let fireworks go off anywhere in the vicinity or thunder from a storm and they are trying to get underneath me to get away from the noise.

Fireworks were illegal in our city until a couple of years ago. Now they may be used by anyone 18 or over between sunset July 4 and 1:00 a.m. July 5. I don't consider that to be a good change.

Fireworks should be confined to licensed displays put on by professionals on agreed dates in each community. Then pet owners and those who don't react well to unexpected explosions can prepare appropriately and know they won't be woken after they've gone to bed by the hard of thinking.

They have already started setting the off around my place. One of the pleasant things about living outside the city. 🤦🏻‍♀

They’re already illegal here, because of the serious risk of wildfires. Unfortunately, that doesn’t stop people and there are just not enough police to deal with every report.

Yep. All of this plus fireworks are boring. Seeing them once is enough.

I hate fireworks.

They`re not needed and that money could be spend on something worthwhile.
