I'm hoping my Dad still likes me after today. I've been dreading Christmas, because

... I knew he'd hate how much weight I've gained!

😬

I thought to myself, "He's having a difficult time looking at me." Urgh. But, then I realized he doesn't he really look at my brother either. So, I guess he never really likes looking at his children. My brother isn't overweight. 🤷‍♀️

He doesn't believe anything I say though. I told him I have an addiction to salt. He said, "That's beer! I can tell by looking at you."

I hate to break the news to you, Dad! But, it's the food. He never believes me.

My brother came to my house afterward. He saw my table and said "OMG! You like salt so much you bring it to your coffee table?!"

And, my Dad said "Beer has TONS of salt in it!"

What? No it doesn't! The F???

My Dad is an intelligent man but sometimes I think he just says stuff to prove one point... especially if it's a point he's trying to prove to his children. I understand alcohol makes me hungrier but that's ALL ALCOHOL. Why didn't he believe me when I was thin? I always noticed the difference when I ate lots of sodium.

I guess, he doesn't look my brother or I in the eyes. So, what does it matter?

Parents can be dead ass stubborn with what they think is the reason behind things. Especially boomer parents lol. If they are set on a truth, no logic in the world will change it. 😂

So I have just ignored caring to explain to them. They mean well they're just a tad confused..
Things happen to parents as they get older.
I should know, I'm a parent and I'm touching 62 lol

@perceptivei I see that happening with my mother in law. She's 82

Sounds quite sad for you both. Not the same at all but I have a good friend who is piling on weight and I can't deny thinking unkind thoughts. He eats and drinks too much, simple as that....

@SW-User how does this exactly work if you are by yourself step by step?

@therighttothink50 You can buy an audible beep timer and set time periods
