On my way home today I was thinking about my greatest Elf hero

In the previous edition of Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game there was a skirmish supplement called Battle Companies, where you use small warbands of basic warriors to do battle, with three of them promoted to 'heroes'. I love Rivendell, and was playing as them with the 'heroes' Elfor and Brondal. Elfor died in the first game, but Brondal went on to be the terror of the campaign; he had every shooting skill, and one-shot a Warrior of the Dead who had Defence 9 with his Strength 3 bow (this required rolling a 6 followed by a second 6 on a 6-sided dice). It got to the point where the friends I was playing with teamed up to target him, and he still lived to the very end of the campaign.

I hope they do Battle Companies for the current edition of MESBG, but given the third Armies Of book still isn't out 6 months after the game and other books released, I don't hold out much hope.
