IDK thoughts I guess?
I think I posted about selling a lot of my Imperial Fists models a little while ago, and now I'm left with Imperial Fists which are the remnants of two or even three sub-armies that I have to figure out how to make into one unite into one coherent force. The terminators and contemptor dreadnought have Sector Mechanicus bases from the 405th Company sub-army, while most of the others have 'plain' textured bases designed to be a Siege of Terra force - the rest aren't painted, which to my mind makes them their own sub-army as the unassigned.
Anyway, I'm thinking of rebasing them all to have plain bases so they can all be at the Siege of Terra. This would mean procuring at least 10 new 40mm bases which isn't particularly difficult but means they'll take longer to complete. I've got a 3000 point army list which I'm going to build to, and named characters won't be included in this - instead, those named characters who have models (and the ones who come along later) will be a separate collection for display, and will include units which will act as a sort of retinue for each character. An example of this would be Sigismund and a squad of Templar Brethren, or Fafnir Rann and Phalanx Warders, or Alexis Polux and Huscarls. I don't know what to do for Evander Garrius though.
