I have an interest in science but don't want to do it for a career.
I love paleontology, zoology, astronomy, and geography but I don't want to pursue these fields for a career. I'm just content for them to be hobbies. Anybody else like this?

Yes! Many people have serious hobbies deliberately very different from their work.
I know several people who hold Degrees in Geology, via the Open University, as a hobby; even one who gained his PhD in retirement.

Of course! Some things are fun, but hard to make a living at! Better to do it as a hobby and get a high paying job for your main career
