My secret service agents they're not as good as they were 20 years ago d e I destroyed that

@dale74 nope
dale74 · M
@foldedunfolding before DEI most of those jobs were filled with strong well fit men who had been in law enforcement for years and knew what they were doing and knew how to handle intense situations
foldedunfolding · 41-45, F
@dale74 yeah because women, lgbtqia, otherly abled, and other races cannot do the work of the qualified white man 🥴🥴
dale74 · M
@foldedunfolding that's not what I said but if you really want to go there when you go to pick a heart surgeon do you pick someone just because they're lgbtqia or do you pick the best. I would much rather have the best surgeon. Just like when United Airlines said we're going to make sure that half of our pilots are d e i hires. That means they're not going for the best pilots which basically means if you identify as DEI you're almost guaranteed to get the job because when the place has 6,000 pilots well how many dei hires have a pilot's license. I guarantee you out of 6, 000 of the best pilots 3,000 of them are not going to be dei

@dale74 have you not considered that many QUALIFIED people just so HAPPEN to be those things as well??
dale74 · M
@foldedunfolding and that is fine it shouldn't make a difference if you hire the most qualified.
foldedunfolding · 41-45, F
@dale74 DEI is so much more than the right portrays. Ergonomics at work? DEI. Ramps for wheelchairs? DEI. Assistive eye devices at work? DEI. Parental leave? DEI. Anonymous ethics report lines at work? DEI. Soo many other things.
foldedunfolding · 41-45, F
@dale74 DEI makes it so that the most qualified can even be considered. Unconscious bias training for things such as review of "black sounding" names on resumes not causing discrimination in hiring practices? DEI. Not dead-naming trans people and caring about their pronouns? DEI. altho somethinggg tells me you don't like that last one much.

before DEI most of those jobs were filled with strong well fit men who had been in law enforcement for years

That statement isn’t really accurate. Before DEI, many of those jobs weren’t just filled by “strong, well-fit men with years of law enforcement experience” they were often filled by whoever fit the old mold, sometimes regardless of merit. Nepotism, favoritism, and politics played a huge role in hiring and promotions.

DEI didn’t replace qualified men; it challenged a system that often excluded highly capable people who didn’t look or sound like the ones already in power. Physical fitness and experience are still part of the job requirements but now, so are skills like communication, de-escalation, and problem-solving.

The idea that only one type of person made the best hire was never true, it was just tradition.

@SatanBurger okay so next time women are taking hostage we will not send in special forces until we have a entire team made up of female special forces or LGBT special forces should that person who is being captured be LGBT. Oh wait we don't have that why not only that's right they don't meet the qualifications at least not enough of them need for qualifications matter of fact how many female Navy seals are there how many females have met the same standard to become a Navy SEAL that would be zero they have attempted it but none have passed. So your whole argument is quite mute.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@dale74 I wanted to get this out the way first:

What began as a kind of experimental programme is now seen as a major success. More than 300 women applied in the first year, and about a dozen recruits are now passing the gruelling training annually, providing a pipeline of elite women soldiers that can be deployed at home or abroad.

The hardest part so far has been "hell week", says Jannike, a test of mental and physical strength involving long marches over several days with little time for rest, and minimum amounts of food and water.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-39434655

Furthermore, there's tons of female snipers, one of which has 200 kills under her belt.

I also don't know the men's sexuality so how would you know a special forces soldier wasn't gay if they're not out like that? There could be plenty babe.

....

Oh wait we don't have that why not only that's right they don't meet the qualifications at least not enough of them need for qualifications matter of fact how many female

First off, your claim could be any number of reasons and not just that the people don't meet qualifications. Discrimination counts as a barrier hence why DEI is needed and if people aren't actively pushing for females in special forces, it suffices to say that females wouldn't join.

Also Norway wouldn't have female special forces if they couldn't ever meet qualifications.

Secondly, your claim is that dei is about hiring people that don't have qualifications on the account they are black, female, Lgbtq+, or any other group in the states.

But then you just disproved your own statement.

IF they're not just handing down jobs that people don't deserve then your dei argument falls flat. Make it make sense.

Despite the overwhelming evidence of female soldiers on the front lines and creation of female sniper groups and special forces, do you just want to continue with ranting like a 13 year old boy who still thinks females got cooties.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@dale74 It's called a team for a reason Dale. There's no all female special forces or all gay special forces. Most teams are made up of mixed things Dale and from mixed backgrounds. You're never going to have special forces that come from all one background and one race, Dale.

Okay?
foldedunfolding · 41-45, F
@dale74 before i read satanburger's comment..bruh it is "moot"..and "taken". I saw you say "our" instead of "are" in another post..like, at least ATTEMPT to be legible before entering the frayyy. Do you not realize that they don't wait around for disadvantaged people to hire lmaoooo..They legit. have. anyone. qualified. stocked. and at the ready. DEI merely allows them to ENTER THE CONVERSATION. Y'know like how you, disadvantaged, have entered this one.

If he is making privates stand at attention, he might be. 😄

still thinks females got cooties.
I read that as, "females got cooters".

What are we arguing about again? 🤔
