What did/do you collect as a hobby?

In my teenage years I collected Stamps and Coins. Not too seriously though.
Have no idea what happened to them. Certainly do not have any now.😁

@Gusman do you go on walkabout? listened to that dirgidoo that makes that deep low bass sound??? how you like the road trains? enjoy the hot desert?????? pet the kangaroos????? 😺
Gusman · 61-69, M
@trackboy Aboriginies go "Walkabout" Young Males go live in the bush alone for 6 months as a Rite of Passage to becoming a man.
Us white fellas, Wadjilas" "Go Bush"
I "Go Bush" quite often. Camping, fishing, spending time with the critters. No, one can not "Pet" a Wild Kangaroo. Never get close enough. Never try.
Road Trains are scary, especially on Dirt Roads. 100 km/h coming towards you, rear trailer often moving from side to side. So much dust being thrown up, Driving Blind. Scary indeed.
The best part about the desert is the solitude. No one around for a hundred miles.
Also seeing the Milky Way in total darkness is a magical experience.

@Gusman ohh I read white guys go on walk about too there. enjoying camping? no tame kangaroos?? worried you will get hit by the road trains??? enjoy the milky way???? must be realy dark on moonless night!!!!! people died out in the desert?????

I collected coins for a little while. I just made a post about it a while ago, lol. But other than that, I never really been big on collecting stuff.

I collect 1:43 scale model cars and 1:72 scale WW11 aircraft.
SAandME · 56-60, M
@Gusman aprox 500 cars (all from 50's - 80's) and around 60 aircraft (they take up more space so smaller collection)
Gusman · 61-69, M
@SAandME Fair size collection must give you great pleasure.
Could be a tidy nest egg down the track?
SAandME · 56-60, M
@Gusman Yes, always been into WW11 aircraft, the cars started when i realised i was no longer seeing my childhood family cars on the road. Was going to buy a few plastic kits to make but found you could get ready made diecast models, the collection then grew beyond the family cars to all cars from the era.
Ironicman · 56-60, M
Nice, shame you didn't keep them. Mine was Matchbox Cars.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Ironicman I can not remember what happened to them. Must have sold them at a flea market🤷‍♂️

I tried to collect coins, after some encouragement from my grandmother, when I was a kid. But I missed the point completely. I still don't really get it. I found the sweet tarts and alexander the grapes they bought me to be more of a draw than a box full of coins.

Now though, I do spend those coins on bobs burgers collectable figures. And a few others. Nothing fancy, just silly really.
