Pennies, and even that takes a certain threshold of views. And you have to avoid being demonitized, which means you're basically limited to posting cat videos at this point.

@Sicarium I'm thinking of uploading speedpaints which seem pretty safe, but I heard that someone got their vid demonetized for bullying because the title had the word 'roast' in it... even though he was talking about a literal chicken dinner roast X"D

(Idk how true that is, but these days you never know)

@Fishy It really wouldn't surprise me if that happened. YouTube is demonetizing for absolutely ridiculous crap like that. YouTube is killing their own ad-revenue model with their idiocy.

I'd start the channel, post a few videos, and apply for monetization. If you get approved, be careful with the titles and metadata. Once you get a decent enough subscribers, start up Patreon account (or equivalent) and point your viewers to that. Don't count on YouTube ad revenue. Once Patreon gets going for you, you'll have more freedom on YouTube.

@Sicarium Yeah Patreon sounds pretty good. I'm still trying to figure it out though, what quirks/bonus features I should have on it etc 😅
