There is no specific thing that can be attached to being Hindu. There are many rituals that a Hindu may or may not follow. There are many believes that a Hindu may or may not believe. The are many scriptures that a Hindu may or may not read. There are many teaching that a Hindu may or may not follow. There are many philosophies that a Hindu may or may not even heard about. There are many Hindu Gods & Goddesses that a Hindu may or may not worship. A Hindu may go to Temple daily or may not go to any temple all his life. There is lot of text on how to live, eat, exercise, work, behave, worship, administer, rule, become divine, even a practical book on procreation, etc.
Hindu religion doesn't imposes you for anything. In other words, Sanatan Dharma(not exactly the Hindu religion, because dharma is not equal to religion), gives you all means but doesn't imposes anything on you. You can gain from it or you can totally ignore it, you can be a atheist and still be a Hindu.
In single word, it's freedom. It's up to you what you want to become and where you want to go. It is about seeking instead of believing.
Truth is Hinduism is not a religion.
So, to answer your question, everyone feels differently because there is no imposition on practices. It's up to you how you want to be.🙏
A peek in to Hinduism.

Strange question!! Why do you ask?
The answer could be probably the same as being anything else, I suppose! You breathe the same air and mostly eat the same food as the people around you.
In day-today life it's difficult to see how following any religion matters, especially if you are part of the modern world and live in a populous and productive urban area.
What is it like to be a Muslim?

Before being a Hindu/Muslim/Christian/Sikh etc. one should always be a HUMAN. Preach Humanity.

I know a Hindu lady. Her life is terrible,so restricted.
She can't leave her home for dear of being raped or murdered.
She is wed to her cousin. She had no choice in this and her husband is 20 years older than her.

The invading Persians misspelled 'Hindu' to refer to the culture across the 'Sindhu' river, also known as the Indus River. It is simply a collective name for a culture, not a religion.
The Indians never identified as 'Hindus'. The word was coined by foreigners, as previously mentioned.
So, what does it mean to be Hindu? Absolute freedom to hold whatever beliefs you desire. Nobody bothers.
