I have decided to start an exercise routine after a long period of inactivity. I think yoga may be a good start. Any advice?

I'm 53 years old. Always had a busy life. My husband passed away in Feb. after a long battle with cancer. I guess I stayed fit just by taking care of him. Since he died I've lost 30 lbs and I am so flabby. Figure exercise may help me emotionally and physically. Advice and encouragement welcomed

Hi, I found that callanetics is also useful. If you have a dvd you can do it in the comfort of your own home. Best wishes to you.

@Lochlee Thanks...not sure what that is but will look it up.

It was "invented" by Callan Pinckley. It entails stretches and very gentle, but powerful muscle exercises (no jumping around ;-) ) I have her video (ancient) and book. What I like about it (the video), it includes normal looking people from all age groups. Perhaps as a variation to other forms of exercise. All the best, keep us posted.
