Have you gotten your wisdom teeth out? Did you go back to work/school the next day?

If so how many days did you take off? Did you go to work the next day?
I’m getting my last wisdom tooth taken out tomorrow. My dentist said since I’m very strong, I should be okay by the next day and I can go back to work. I work with children.
I had all four done at once and as I recall it took two days to recover.
@ElizabethBabe1994 I think I skipped a day. It was a while ago, I may have been unemployed. I do remember lying on the couch.

@LeopoldBloom okay. My boss is expecting me to be at work the next day if I feel okay
@ElizabethBabe1994 If your dentist thinks you need more than three days off, you can ask for Family and Medical leave as long as you've worked there at least a year and they have over 50 employees in the local area. You can call 1-866-4USWAGE (1-866-487-2365) which is the US Dept. of Labor, Wage and Hour Division, and they can explain it to you. The Family and Medical Leave Act requires your employer to give you the time off and hold your job for you. But it has to be a "serious health condition" which for a single incident like that means you need more than three days off and a second doctor visit afterwards.

I'm assuming you're in the US. If not then I have no idea.

I had all four wisdom teeth removed many years ago. I had the procedure first thing at 8 AM on a Friday morning; I rested up all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and I went back to work on Sunday night at 11 PM.

@Byron8by7 that’s cool. My dentist said I should be good by tomorrow so I can go back to work or should I rest the next day. I do work with kids and it’s very active.
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
@ineedadrink Oh okay. Where I work is pretty active so I should probably take tomorrow off even though the dentist said I should be okay by tomorrow since I’m strong but I should take it easy.
Yes and No. I stayed home in my Vicodin haze.

@DreamyCrush We’ll my boss expects me to be at work Thursday
@ElizabethBabe1994 That's not their call if you aren't feeling well. Stuff gauze in your cheeks and drool on everything.
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
@DreamyCrush I told them I’ll let them know how I’m feeling

I was fine by the next day but was still on dietary restrictions for obvious reasons. Talking a lot the next day may an issue, though.

@smileylovesgaming damn it, but health goes first
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@ElizabethBabe1994 it can be hard to talk afterwards

I went to work the following day. No issues. My sister was in bed for 3 days after her procedure. It definitely depends on the person.
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
@CJNature I guess so. My first three I went straight back to work. I wasn’t in any pain at all. I guess I’m just lucky.

I got all 4 of mine done in one go. I went out and got drunk the same night
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F

@MURD3RM0NK3Y you’re lucky you were in pain or soar.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
I have not. There was plenty of room in my jaw for the bottom two, and the top two never came in.
