It amazes me that when we have an x-ray, those taking it hide behind a bullet proof screen whilst we, the hoi poloi take the full brunt of said x-rays.
@Gusman wow you should say something about it and see if they can give you a shield. I swear I had X-ray techs give me them but I remember asking once or I wouldn’t have been shielded. But I have heard that unless you’re a complete psycho and you get a few X-rays a month you get more radiation from traveling by airplane. And that leaves me with more ?s than answers. I used to worry most about dental X-rays because they seemed to be more than thorough and again I foggily recall asking them if I was done because it seemed excessive and if I hadn’t been gaged by the little film packets until I 🤮 they would have taken more. Saved by the barf.
@2cool4school I think after all these years, and so few X-Rays I will not be worrying about it.
From Google; More than 50 years of research has shown that levels of radiation used in modern X-ray machines are so low that the risk of harm is very small or even zero. That's why we are no longer using shields, sometimes called lead aprons, during X-ray exams.
