Does anyone have a clue .....

My mum has been scratching at her tattoo for a while because lumps/ sports have started to pop up and now it looks a right mess. I did message the artist who done it but he not got back to me and mine has started doing same thing.
My mum has many tattoos and they have never done this before

A month is a long time. It seems like a reaction to the ink, but nobody here is likely going to be able to tell you for sure. What you do not want is a simple skin reaction to get worse and affect your mother's entire system. This could be a simple rash or this could be an infection that could go septic.

She should be able to walk into an urgent care clinic or see her doctor without much trouble. Regardless of the trouble or price, it will give both of you peace of mind and keep her safe to see a professional who can properly diagnose and treat her. Good luck.

Nice art, by the way.

@Graylight thank you for your advice.

God given beautiful body is spoiled by tatoos by you westerners. Do you think tatoos enhance beauty, no not at all.It is the otherway.
MiraRoss · 31-35, F
@Mahesh you think people have tattoos to enhance beauty? It's not why she did it and why are we westerns?
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Mahesh Different cultures have different practices. Certainly, tattooing did not come from Western civilization. Tattoos can be marks of honor, rights of passage, stories of heroism and great journeys.. and they can just be art that the wearer loves. You don't have to understand it, but it bears some respect.

@Graylight thank you
Like others have said, it is probably a bad reaction that will sort itself out with a little help (allergy stuff), but definitely have it looked at to make sure it is not infected.

Could it be allergy to a specific color? Mine did that but smaller bumps, I think it was either blue or purple for some reason.

Mine cleared up though.

Sounds like a bad reaction. I would talk to a doctor and see what they could recommend.

Might be allergic to the ink.... yikes
MiraRoss · 31-35, F
@cherokeepatti it's been a while since she's had it though over a month

@MiraRoss maybe it took that long for the ink to leak into the body and for the immune reaction to develop. And the ink could be contaminated, especially if it’s imported from China.

Take benedryl or an allergic medication. Put polysporin on it. I had a really bad reaction with my last one. I put polisporin on it during the day.. Don't cover it up

@MiraRoss Welcome. Lasted a while for me but the white spot went away and the redness left.
MiraRoss · 31-35, F
@Jammy sounds good 👍

@MiraRoss good luck

The only solution is don’t get tattoos as everyone you get risks this sort of thing. You mess up your skin and pay for the privilege
Grvstu · 70-79, F
So you’re the one in seven chance of messing up something you paid for@MiraRoss
MiraRoss · 31-35, F
@Grvstu it can be sorted apparently so it's not gonna do any damage

Might be contact dermatitis …. Should see a physician though ..
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
Is it sore?
MiraRoss · 31-35, F
@Jenny1234 no just itchy

Sounds like a reaction to the ink. Do not scratch it can really mess up the design. Lightly slap or apply ice or apply itch spray.

She should go see a doctor
