Are you prepared to wear a mask when you have a cold or flu in the future?

The social distancing and mask wearing really helped keep influenza numbers down in the US over the past winter. Are people willing to adopt the mask to protect others when they know they are sick now that most of us have them? Or are they likely to throw theirs away once they are allowed into stores without them?

I hope becomes more acceptable.

I remember flying to a week long conference and the people behind me on the plane (two adults and a kid) could not stop coughing. I knew I was sick by day on the fourth day of the conference and by day five I was taking plenty of drugs (antihistamine and sudafed) to hide it. I knew I was getting everybody sick but what could I do? I had to give my sessions and socialize.

I would have worn a mask if it was more socially acceptable. I know in other countries, people wear masks when they are sick or allergies. Maybe we'll get there.
