Simple question:

Why are flu deaths valued less than COVID-19 deaths?

[c=#359E00] because there is no vaccine yet for covid19[/c]

The speed. We will hit 40,000 deaths soon in the US within the span of a few months (Feb - April). Whereas the high end for flu deaths (around 80,000) was over the span of the whole year. At the moment we're around 2,000-2,500 deaths each day. You don't see that with the flu.

@DDonde 4500 deaths in the last 24 hours. And the whole country is under lockdown. The "it's just the flu" folks are nuts.

<Sigh> they aren't. Every death sucks. How ever flue deaths are 0.1 % of the population while COVID 19 is 3%.

For a little perspective the flu infected 38 million people in the United States causing 390.000 hospitalizations and 23.000 deaths. AS of March 14th 454,000 COVID 19 cases world wide 20,550. See the difference in numbers?

Quantity in total verses quantity over a short period of time. Give deaths over the same period if you want a real comparison! Starting in December 2019 and for the whole world! You'll see just how wrong you are! And the death rate is still going up!

Sars and Mers are deadly, but much easier to contain due to no asymptomatic transmission. They are not even remotely in the same ballpark in terms of being an international threat. While on the other hand, going by those numbers, covid is 34 times deadlier than the seasonal flu, and even more contagious with a sky-high R0.

Now, the real CFR will likely come down, but rather than encouraging, these graphs are actually shockingly bad if you're informed about the fundamentals of these situations.
Dr brix said today there is no more flu.. only Coronas..😑

These elitist bastards all need hanging..

There's a prevention for the flu there's none for the Corona yet and the death tolls rack up daily.
