$1000 payment for US Adults to stimulate the economy.

Plans are afoot for this to be implemented. Seems to be Bipartisan support for the measure.
The Australian Government has promised $750 for all Welfare/Disability recipients to be paid into bank accounts from the 31 st of March

Interesting. I am wondering what the Canadian government is going to offer us.

@chrisCA They are keeping tight lipped about cash payments.

That $1000 is nothing for us. It won’t stimulate the economy. It will help to keep the utilities on for a month. That’s all.

@Keepitsimple Surely any amount helps?
It will help keep the economy turning over because it will go straight back into the economy.

At the most it will go towards food shopping. I can tell you that 3/4 of my husbands pay is Tips/tokes. I will not be spending it on needless things, that’s for sure. @Gusman

It will only work if it is monthly and FOR EVERYONE ...NOT JUST THE ONES the Republicans deem "good people" and not just a one off payment.

$1000 does not cover much. By the time you are done, you can pay some bills but what about food and rent? And what about next month?

Two excuses I saw yesterday to not give us this bill:

Because small businesses cannot pay 2 weeks sick leave. Not even temporarily.

Because the bill says domestic partners are considered in the family part of the bill as people who would receive help. A republican doesn't think those who are "domestic partners" (read gay or unmarried) should get help.

@Gusman In the hospital ..

It helps to have all the facts.

They are prioritizing patients who have a clear chance to live over the elderly who will likely not live even with intervention. This is because THEY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH HOSPITAL BEDS OR STAFF TO KEEP UP. They had to do this.

Stop pushing false rhetoric. It doesn't help.

@Gusman In tough situations, tough calls need to be made.

I dare you to be there making these calls.
