Why is it considered normal to bathe/shower daily?

It didn't become normal until relatively recently in history, and dermatologists are saying it's not really good for our skin, unless we are getting dirty/sweaty every single day.

There is such a thing as over cleanliness. The human body has a remarkable immune system and this trend of bathing and sanitizing that has become so common place is actually harming that system and the reason illnesses are making such a comeback and becoming so widespread. This paranoia over personal hygiene and this germaphobia is not really all that good for us. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with being and living clean, I'm just saying that in recent decades we have gotten anal about it unnecessarily...we actually need dirt and germs.
