Do you know how pain killers work?(both)

Two ways pain killers work.
Pain Killers like Ibuprofen stop the injured cells from making a certain chemical which tells the brain of the pain.
Pain Killers like Paracetamol and Codeine work by stopping the pain messages from entering the brain.
The pain is still there but the brain tells you it isn't.
Your simplified health lesson for the day.🙂

The OTC stuff also increases your chances of heart attack and stroke and decreases empathy. Not to mention it is the leading cause of liver failure.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Peaceful Which is why it is recommended to use sparingly.
Peaceful · F
@Gusman I never use it anymore. There are more natural ways to deal with pain that doesn't damage your body or liver.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Peaceful I rarely use them but last night I had consistent leg muscle pain which stopped me from sleeping.
2 Ibuprofen worked wonders inside 1/2 hour.
Peaceful · F
@Gusman could be a magnesium or potassium deficiency or imbalance. I'd look into that. But for immediate relief, DMSO works wonders and you can put CBD oil on your legs first of you really need to.

@Peaceful 👍️I never get muscle pain. This instance just came upon me.
Will look into your advice.
DMSO?
Peaceful · F
@Gusman please do. That stuff will blow your mind. Household staple here.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Peaceful CBD oil helps only neuropathic pain, which is very different from typical aches and pains.
Peaceful · F
@Graylight that's simply untrue. My mother has severe muscle pain in her back and shoulder and I use CBD oil along with DMSO on it and she sleeps like a baby and says it works better than the narcotics that she has prescribed to her.
We have an endocannabinoid system in our bodies for a reason. :)
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Peaceful I can cite you the research - the lack of it. Science my yet find it works for pain, but right now the relief is ascribed to the placebo effect, a powerful and natural phenomenon.

DMSO is probably the cause of most of the relief, as it's an anti-inflammatory.

We also have opioid receptors in out brains. Doesn't mean we need heroin.
Peaceful · F
@Graylight we can agree to disagree then. I know thousands of people that use CBD oil for a myriad of reasons other than neuropathic pain.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Peaceful I do, too, but anecdotal evidence is the worst kind. But I agree to disagree and am glad people you know get a benefit of any kind.
Peaceful · F
@Graylight I recently had a surgery that was pretty invasive. I used CBD oil for pain management on day two and onward. I also used colloidal silver instead of antibiotics which my surgeon was thrilled about me using both. He works out of Yale Medical.

Yes, benefits are all that matter. As long as we each are doing what's best for our bodies. :)
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Peaceful Got to agree with you on that one. And I should say, while the benifits of CBD are still being debated, no literature, opinion or personal experience has mentioned any danger or harm from it.
Peaceful · F
@Graylight you're right. Just keep in mind the stranglehold Pharma has on our politicians and a lot of the research being put forth is often sponsored by Pharma to dismiss the benefits of CBD and even THC.
Rick Simpson's oil has cured cancer. But that hurts Pharma's bottom line when chemo costs around 10k a day.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Peaceful Yes, but bear in mind too - there's hyperbole on both sides. Rick Simpson's oils have not been proven by a single reputable source to have any effect in curing cancers. That's not about big Pharma interests - that's reproducible studies that can find no link to cancer cures and CBD oil.
Peaceful · F
@Graylight who funded those studies? That's my point. You need to dig deeper into the corruption of Pharma. I know plenty of people that have cured their cancers naturally.

CBD oil stops seizures, but you will not see Pharma exploring either of these options because it hurts their bottom line.

I'm involved with the medical community that leans towards natural ways of healing these things as well as political members that are just as concerned as me with the peer reviewed journals being tainted by Pharma.

Many are sounding the alarm, but guess who owns MSM? Pharma. So you gotta dig. I mean even Google is captured by Pharma at this point.
