have you ever been in a group home, what was it like?

I worked as a counselor in a group home in the 80s. It was sometimes disturbing to me because the head counselor showed favoritism to certain residents and came down hard on others for no reason. The kids were all court ordered. I didn't like the overuse of some of the behavioral techniques either, such as holdings. But, I suppose in the long run most of the residents were better off there than where they had come from.

I have been in group homes but not as a resident
