If you just start a new medication and you are feeling some negative side effects,

Normally the information that came with the meds comes with a "Stop medication immediately if you have these symptoms" list.
Otherwise it tends to say to talk to your doctor if other symptoms persist. So, unless on the one list, it's probably best to keep going until you can speak to your doctor again.

I'd give it at least three days, but if any side effects were very severe, I'd call the doctor for some assurance that it was normal. I would also Google the medication to learn as much as possible about it.

With one of mine I had to wait it out because that is recommended with this medication. I knew that is advance though.
