HELP! What should to someone who is having an anxiety attack?

My friend is having an anxiety attack and I am trying to distract her and talk to her about other things, but I can tell that her anxiety is bad. What should I say to try and comfort her?

Breathe with her ! Seriously breathe with her, help her focus on it
Get her cool water, put her next to an air conditioner, apply a cool cloth to her head. Get her up and help her walk around.

@canusernamebemyusername She is. She told me she didn't want to bother me with her problems and almost didn't call me. I saw her and she said that just me being there was helpful. She's doing better. And I really appreciate your help and concern
@TheProtectedOfOrion You are welcome. I know panic is one of the worst feelings to experience. It is a fear of fear which creates a feedback loop. I should have definitely mentioned that having people around can be a big help too. Even calling someone on the phone and just hearing a voice can be soothing.

@canusernamebemyusername funny thing is I have anxiety too, and have been in the same situation. I guess that made things a bit more simple, but it was still weird to be on the other side of things

Find a man and bring him into the room. His pheromones will tend to calm her.

@newjaninev2 I can understand her frustration. Arguing with an idiot lile you is very trying. Claiming expertise in the face of people who know more than you is the sign of a simpleton. I can understand why you are so uninformed. You never shut up and listen.

@hippyjoe1955 Listen to what? A vague, airey-faery 48 yr-old report, never able to be replicated, and long discredited?

Or would you rather have me give even a modicum of credence to unnecessary and fantastical claims made, on the basis of no evidence whatever, about magical entities?

I hear that breathing into a bag helps

she'll probably wanna sleep after, just keep talking to her like it isn't happening.

Tell her to take DEEP breaths. Hope she's okay.

@Zoranna thank you

Have her take a big breath in, then exhale slow, like count of 8 or 10, repeat

Her Vagus nerve will automatically slow her heart rate
