HELP! What should to someone who is having an anxiety attack?

My friend is having an anxiety attack and I am trying to distract her and talk to her about other things, but I can tell that her anxiety is bad. What should I say to try and comfort her?

Get her cool water, put her next to an air conditioner, apply a cool cloth to her head. Get her up and help her walk around.
@canusernamebemyusername Find out what it is she is panicking about. Try to help her reason through it.

@canusernamebemyusername it was just a random burst of anxiety, that's the problem. I'm not sure if there is a root to it
@TheProtectedOfOrion Then tell her that she can ride through it. Tell her it is like a wave and just to try and float on the surface until the waters calm. And keeps applying cool stuff as panic can cause hot and cold flashes and the coolness can help regulate her temperature. How long ago did she take the xanax?
@canusernamebemyusername Screaming, tearing something or something like that can help her exert some nervous energy as well.

@canusernamebemyusername thank you so much for your help. She took them couple of hours ago, but not much changed
@TheProtectedOfOrion I know mine can last a long time. Is she doing any better? Give her something to distract herself as well. I always find tv numbs my brain or music if she likes music.

@canusernamebemyusername She is. She told me she didn't want to bother me with her problems and almost didn't call me. I saw her and she said that just me being there was helpful. She's doing better. And I really appreciate your help and concern
@TheProtectedOfOrion You are welcome. I know panic is one of the worst feelings to experience. It is a fear of fear which creates a feedback loop. I should have definitely mentioned that having people around can be a big help too. Even calling someone on the phone and just hearing a voice can be soothing.

@canusernamebemyusername funny thing is I have anxiety too, and have been in the same situation. I guess that made things a bit more simple, but it was still weird to be on the other side of things
