Time to get your flu shot! There is exactly ONE valid reason not to do it and that is because you are medically unable.

Get that shot. Protect yourself, your family and your community.

I'm not immunocompromised and I don't interact regularly with people who are. Why would I need a flu shot?
dumpstermeow · 41-45, F
@Pikachu other people can see this??
SW-User
@dumpstermeow 🙈 what, this isn't private?
dumpstermeow · 41-45, F
@SW-User I had no clue. 🤷🏼

3 years ago I woke up with pneumonia on New Year's Day. So, I've become a convert and I've had my flu shot every year since. To date, no issues. 🎉
@SW-User

Good stuff

I stay away from flu shots like they are the bubonic plaque

i got the mega dose, for old people, because the infusion i get wrecks my immune system
Propaganda. One word. Says it all.
@PoetryNEmotion

You can say it. That doesn't make it true.

I got a flu shot in 1996 and I had never been sicker during flu season. Have never got another one and over 20 years later I’ve never been that sick again.
@JesseInTX

Well that makes sense because the vast majority of people who get the shot suffer no ill effects.

But if the last time you got the shot was was 96 then maybe it's time to try again. After all, correlation does not equal causation and you can still get the flu even if you get the shot.

But if you choose not to then on behalf of myself and the people in your community who are vaccinating, you're welcome.

I’m not willing to risk 8-10 total sick days over the winter as compared to the month I was sick and even was in the hospital for a week on 2 different occasions @Pikachu.
@JesseInTX

Then you're welcome
Rokasu · 36-40, M
It was time way long ago. They be producing that stuff the moment the strains hit the field.
@Rokasu

Yeah, it's actually a bit late in the season to be getting it. But better late than never
Rokasu · 36-40, M
@Pikachu I work for a hospital so they pay for us to get ours. If you get it early enough while the cold is still at bay there's practically zero side effects.

PSA: Even if you get a little sick, do it for the kids.
@Rokasu

Personally i've never even got side effects from it
Rokasu · 36-40, M
Flu royally fucked me up one year. Forever changed my body's digestive track. Thought you folks would like to know.
@Rokasu

Thanks for sharing. I think a lot of people underestimate what the flu can do even in the majority of cases that are non-fatal
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
I really should - have been too lazy my whole life. Maybe this year.
@QuixoticSoul

Get on it
Deadcutie · 18-21, F
Well shit, we agree again.... stop it
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
