It depends on how much you weigh now.
If someone is bigger they can lose more weight in a shorter time period, and as they get closer to their goal weight they begin to lose less and less per week/month in terms of KGs.

Very true. The rate of loss would be decreasing over the time. You have to avoid being to strict to yourself when it is near to your "natural" weight.

I was reading an article about this a while ago... It said something like the heavier (either from fat or muscle) a person is, the more calories they will burn at rest and they will need more calories to maintain their current body weight... or something along those lines.
If you need to lose weight you need to figure out how many calories you burn per day and eat less then what you burn.
They say if you want to lose ½ a KG in a week you need to create a 500 calorie deficit per day.

Also, those fitness wrist bands can really help you keep track of how many calories you burn per day. I have one myself.
