Why don’t people who have lifeless limbs, have them amputated and replaced with good prosthetics.

They’d be able to walk/run, or pick something up for example.
Have a much higher quality of life.

Good point. I’d say that wouldn’t be an issue in countries with socialized medicine, but you probably wouldn’t get good prosthetics through such a system anyways,
