To an extent. Smoking always decreases lung function and introduces particulates to the lung tissue. THC can trigger certain Schizophrenia genes if one has them present in their DNA, but at the same time CBD suppresses them. Heavy use can cause some hormone disruption, but it's low and really only occurs with extremely long term heavy, heavy use. While not addictive it can become a crutch.
Over-all though it's fairly benign compared to most other intoxicants.
