Food for thought

Is it just me or is manifestation/law of attraction actually making people crazy?

It’s called Magical Thinking.
Magical thinking in psychology refers to a type of thinking where an individual believes that their thoughts, actions, or words can influence events in the world in a way that defies the known laws of physics and causality. This kind of thinking is common in children but can also be seen in adults. It is characterized by beliefs such as:

1. **Cause and Effect Misunderstandings**: Believing that one can influence outcomes or events without a causal or logical relationship. For example, thinking that wearing a certain color can change the outcome of a sports game.

2. **Superstitious Beliefs**: Holding irrational beliefs about luck, such as thinking that carrying a lucky charm can influence future events.

3. **Overestimation of Personal Influence**: Believing that one's thoughts or actions can directly influence external events, like thinking that wishing for something can make it happen.

4. **Anthropomorphic Thinking**: Attributing human characteristics to inanimate objects or forces of nature, like believing a car has a personality or that the weather changes in response to one's mood.

Magical thinking is not inherently harmful and can be a normal part of development or a way to cope with uncertainty. However, it can be problematic if it interferes with rational decision-making or reflects a psychological disorder, such as in some cases of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) or schizophrenia.

The Laws of Attraction have nothing whatsoever to do with magical thinking. What you're going on about in your post misses the mark completely in what the OP is asking about.

Magical thinking in psychology has no basis in the Art of Manifestation, in fact neither are even remotely related. Obviously you know a bit about psychology, but clearly you know nothing about the Laws of Attraction.

@swirlie haha that not me. That’s ChatGPT ! I kind of agree with ChatGPT though. In manifestation, you still have to believe that adopting a certain mindset automatically turns your wishes into a reality that will then manifest itself in your life.

@eMortal
..and that's exactly how it goes in life whether you've developed a certain mindset or not with regard to manifestation.
