It's not until I'm almost 60

That I look around and think to myself, wow 60 feels young-ish. Actually this happens with each passing year!!!im just surprised it does! And it makes me think thirty is almost too young! The disparity in knowledge between those ages is great, and that means I probably still have much to learn! Yep Life is weird.

I'm glad change is slow and that helps make transitions gentle.

I'm 70. I've been feeling younger every year since I was your age!

@Mindful Same here. The older I get the more I think that age is an irrelevant number. Of course it helps that I am mostly in good health and financially secure (not rich by a long way though) so I can enjoy life.

In fact I think that perhaps the best argument for looking after ones health is so that when one retires and has time to enjoy not having to work that one is also healthy enough to enjoy it.

Mind you I can't claim that I looked after mine, I'm just lucky.

@ninalanyon thank you for sharing that! I'm glad to hear that you are doing well all the way around! It nice to know that not every one is having a difficult time financially and health wise. Kiddos!

@Mindful I can't claim much credit for it. I think it mostly came down to a combination of genes and luck of being born where and when I was. My interests (physical sciences, engineering) from an early age coincided with what society needed so education was a joy instead of a slog (mostly) and and finding a job afterwards was easy too and mostly satisfying.

I just wish that society at large was geared to supporting young people to be and do their best as my little corner of the world was in the '60s and '70s.

I can't say that I feel younger after passing 70, but I am using my retirement to improve my mind. There is so much to learn!

It feels odd being the same age as old people ;-)
