Back in our day it was worth having someone fix our home electronics, because we paid a shitload of money for them and were built to last. I was actually going to go into the A/V repair business and took the basic class to get me started through a private run program. However it was discovered that I have red/green color blindness and couldn't continue. TBH, A/V repair is now obsolete as most specific vitntage/retro A/V parts are as rare as a hen's tooth, all home electronics are now cheap shit and disposable.
