This Old Man

cantankerous
old man
rants
raves
alone
in his home
hidden from the world
at large
so small
in mothball
smelling clothes
no one ever knows
the man he could
have been
still
when he dreams
late at night
of magnificent things
alive in his dreams
suddenly he awakes
with the smile
fading from his face
another day begins
much to his chagrin
walks ever so slowly
to his front door
opens the screen
peers out
into the world
then turns round
slowly
to his breakfast alone
at this old kitchen table
in his worn vintage chair
stares off into space
forgetting his dreams

Loneliness, is an awful illness
it poisons the heart and mind
@SatyrService I know, dear heart. Mind your life. I miss you too.
@PoetryNEmotion some days I struggle
but have such a fine comunity
@SatyrService I am happy for you then. Sending you love and light.
@PoetryNEmotion i miss the snuggle tho, the head on my shoulder thru the night
so sometimes a cat
@SatyrService I have my dog. She cuddles at times. Not a real cuddler though except in the morning for belly rubs while she lays upon her back. I am getting a puppy in July. For my birthday. If I find one, if not before end of summer.
