What's a sound or noise you heard growing up that you don’t hear anymore.

For me it's my mom and aunts talking in swedish. The sonic nooms of the jets over the farm practicing dogfights, and the cows and sheep. Cars Don't sound the same. No dial tone on the phone when you pick it up. No static on the TV when you change channels.

My grandfather yelling at everyone. That man could bellow like a rutting moose. He had a booming voice and just like to holler😄
@TrashCat My paternal grandfather also had a deep, booming voice. I was kind of afraid of him. I remember one time, he was fussing at me because I’d left clutter in the living room—in Creole. My father came in and began to translate. Grandfather was waving his arms, yelling.
Pop said, in his calm voice,"Your grandfather is rather disappointed that you didn’t pick up your toys. Could you do so now, please ?" I began cleaning up. Pop shrugged at Grandfather, who patted my head and left the room. 😅

@bijouxbroussard Great story! Thank you for sharing that. I wasn't afraid of my gramps and was the grandchild who would stand up to him at an early age. He used to tell everyone I was his favorite grandson because I didn't put up with his crap often telling him he was a big baboon. lol
