Do you ever see someone you know irl, who’s your own age and wonder if you are aging the same way?

Maybe they look so great you’re impressed how they’ve escaped time and believe you have too. Or maybe their aging is so significant, you wonder if it’s crept it’s way on your face so gradually that it’s unnoticed to you, yet so apparent to others.

I think its more about how well you can still move and enjoy doing the things you love, rather than looks. So to me, aging is about ability and desire to have fun.

I like this. I agree, although a big part of me is still bothered by how aging makes me look like a caricature of my younger self. @Lumberjack70

@Carissimi yes, I understand that. It’s inevitable though.

I am a lot older than you. I still wonder if i look as old as my peers look to me.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@DoubleRings I am told I do not look or act anywhere near my age. So, perhaps I look better for my age.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
Good for you! 😊 @samueltyler2

@DoubleRings thanks, regular exercise and luck!
Contrary to that. I am aging fast. All grey hairs now. Now my arm hairs are going grey. Lost hairs as well. Early signs of heart attack after mid fourties or in fifties.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@Reflection2 haha. Well maybe you are lonely? That’s why?
@DoubleRings nah man. Family, friends, life challenging. Too occupied. Just life you know
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
Well loneliness is the pits so I’m glad you’re not feeling lonely. @Reflection2

Some of the kids i went to school with look much older than they should as they moved or travelled lots in hot climates and lived the good life. I don't think I look as old but probably had less fun.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
sometimes I see people I used to know when I was younger and boom! It hits me how they have aged - they really look their age. And since sometimes I haven’t seen them since we were young, it’s like they aged instantly. I wonder if I make that same impression on people.
meggie · F
@DoubleRings yes it's possible as we see our faces each day we don't realise we are looking much older than we think. I know I am attracted to men in my age group and not younger ones.

I think im aging normally but i notice young people looking haggard and having body aches and wonder what the hell is going on.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
I had body aches in bed while sleeping of all times mainly in my hips. I went back to the gym and haven’t had them since thankfully. @Selah I’d have blamed the bed I was sleeping in (not my own) but it happened no matter where I slept.
@Selah 70+ hour work weeks will do that to you. lol Between both jobs I'm barly pulling in 3k a month and I'm still struggling to actually save money thanks to a mixture of rising fule and food prices, along with rent increases. As soon as i can actually save up enough money for the bank to give me a home loan I'm cutting back to one job since a mortgage payment will be half of my monthly rent.
Yes. Because I think I am typical but people don't believe I am a senior citizen. I don't think it is flattery. Example, my hair is not very gray at all. I don't dye it.
calicuz · 56-60, M
Nope, I just look in the mirror and know I'm the one that hasn't aged well.
monellla731 · 46-50, M
people don't think i look 45 I also take care of myself
I pay very little attention to that sort of thing in other people. I’m still relatively fit and active, and I try to stay physically healthy. The rest is vanity.
