I need to get a reverse osmosis purifier.
The water here is atrocious! 1400 ppm from the faucet, drops to 400 with a bone ash filter and the plants grow better.

The water in Plymouth, Mass is VERY close to being unsafe to drink, so they put massive amounts of chlorine into the water to kill the e-coli and so on...rendering the water undrinkable.
If I didn't have a PUR water filter ON my faucet, I would not be able to drink the water, either.

@4meAndyou Our water has so much crap in it, the soil stains if you leave the water run in one spot. I placed 2 hoses, one filtered, in the garden and let them run for ten minutes. After the soil dried you could see the difference between the two. The unfiltered water left the soil a different color!
