I’ve had it twice, but never had the typical rash. On my jaw, it looked like a very light breakout and my arm and chest I had nothing, they said I caught it in time. I knew when I felt itchy and didn’t feel me scratching- I went straight to urgent care and told them I knew it was it b/c I felt that last time. They never believe it b/c of my age at the times. My neuro said it often hits your weaker parts- for me he said the jaw was likely b/c I get severe migraines and have a lot of neck pain. Not sure about the chest/arm. I have nerve damage from both. The first caused trigeminal neuralgia. I wouldn’t stop taking that med if I were you.

The first time they all thought it was a stroke warning 🙄 but I didn’t have any risk factors.
@MellyMel22 Yeah that’s what happened to me too except it started on my eyelid the first time. I had to fight to get the vaccine because I was considered too young to be experiencing recurrent shingles. I still have the nerve damage. Trigeminal neuralgia is the worst pain.

@Notladylike Yeah, it’s no joke! The first time was related to a med w/drawal after following the drs directions perfect. Neuro said it was b/c I wasn’t used to the type of med- I had the worst feeling when told to try it, but the dr assured me it was b/c it was a med that was given to my friend the wrong way and took her life. I should’ve trusted my gut.

I only had it on my jawline, but the rash was barely there. Have you found something that helps? I found my miracle med for the bad attacks and otherwise I try moist heat first but also use it with the med.

The second time I got nerve damage in my arm and when I have heartburn, I feel it in that hand, it’s so annoying and strange 🤣

They refused me the vaccine b/c I was in my 20’s. My neuro I started seeing again was pissed when he heard.

@MellyMel22 and this is why i refuse to get a shot! Anything not already born in me, dont belong there! I hate needles, i hate pills, ive only been sick 2 times in need of hospitals, gall blader being removed had 9 stones! And emergency eye surgery when i was born. Otherwise than that, i take care of myself. Most drs medicine dont help either, if it did, why do we have to refill it?
My dad is cherokee native, he spoke on healing by grace and listen to the ancestors
@MellyMel22 Not really all the meds had worse side effects. Acupuncture, Ice packs and lidocaine patches are the only thing I use. Rarely strong pain relief polexia if I just need a break. I’m seeing a new female neuro soon so hopefully she gaslights me less than the last one. I was offered neurosurgery but was too scared of the risks.
@CloudAngel80 Yeah I think there is something in that. Once the rash is gone I found acupuncture was helpful and I still get a regular reflexology treatment.

@CloudAngel80 Some Drs don’t care, but honestly I would’ve taken that vaccine. Trigeminal neuralgia is no joke, it used to be referred to as the suicide disease b/c people were killing themselves from the pain.

[/c][/i]Thats horrible they did that.. I told them I was in excruciating pain and they tried to get me in an ambulance saying they felt I was having a stroke. I said I don’t have one risk factor for stroke and since when does it cause excruciating pain?! I have a high pain tolerance too.

Ice helps you? It makes my so much worse, instantly. I won’t do surgery either! I use Trileptal when I need to, but only when it’s unbearable. It used to be awful label for that because it’s not what it was made for but a lot of people get relief from it and it’s the only thing that helped me. Though you have to be careful in the sun if I’m not mistaking with it. That in the Bed Buddy original sinus packs help(moist heat). @Notladylike
