Mom had it. They did one eye at the time. I think she had to wear a patch for a day and put some drops in. Made a lot of difference in her vision. I understand that multifocal lenses are now available so you can see all distances. She got the single lens so she still needs readers.

I passed on them since I still play sports. I can't have 2 different fields of vision with balls (not those type) coming at me

@Softandsweet2 Did they had to use laser?

@Prince0217 I really don’t know. It was really quick and painless. I don’t remember anything about a laser, but not sure.

Hi there,
I’ve actually had cataract surgery myself, and honestly, it was about as painful as getting a haircut. The whole thing was quick and straightforward, and the recovery was much easier than I expected.
I know it’s natural to feel a little nervous beforehand, but you’ll likely be surprised at how smooth the process is. The best part for me was noticing how much clearer and brighter everything looked afterward it really does make a difference.
Wishing you the same easy experience and a speedy recovery. You’ll be glad you had it done.
Take care,
David

No my friend had it. Took about 6 weeks to get over it. He's been fine since.

I will have to have it as I've been diagnosed with them so they watching them currently.

I had this done myself several years ago. I can't remember having any problems and the improvment in my vision was very worthwhile. Good luck!

Yes several years ago. The procedure isn't awful. There are a few weeks of inconvenience afterwards with eye drops and such. But when it's done you'll see like you haven't seen since you were a little kid. It did wonders for me.

My brother in law performs those surgeries, lines them up and go from one room to next. Think he does 20 to 30 procedures in one day. But that’s not everyday

I have, both eyes. Follow directions and follow up care and you will be fine. Strange being wide awake while they work on your eyes.
chuck7882 · 61-69, M
@bowman81 being wide awake while they work is the part I'm nervous about
idontcareok · 70-79, M
yes i had it done on both eyes, not a problem, the eye surgery takes about 15 minutes, easy, just have do put drops in for 30 days, i drove the next day, use sun glasses, just do what they tell you to do, had both done, nothing to worry about, just to what they say
HumanEarth · F
No, but I need to have it done. They just told me that my cataracts is worst enough yet.

I'm like dude, I have trouble reading anything. Everything is blurry and I have to have all computers at work and home set to high contrast just to read the screen.

But my eyes aren't bad enough

Hi, I had one done and actually drove home 20 miles. i could see better going home than going to the hospital.😁
my dad had it done. very satisfied says he sees like a young man again. good luck

I had it a couple of years ago. Easiest surgery ever! Be prepared for a lot of floaters afterwards though. I still have them 2 years later
my dad just had it, he had no complications. his sight is much much better.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F

@Jenny1234

My Chinese friend has a cataract. Sits 6 comfortably 👍
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
not at all horrible, i should have done it earlier!

forgot to say, good luck, i am sure things will be fine.
Fallflower · 46-50, F
My dad did, at age 70 or so, afterwards he claimed he no longer needed his glasses!
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Fallflower I wasn't that lucky. I have astigmatism and the cataract surgery has no effect in that.
Pretzel · 70-79, M
Had them both done in my 40s

Would hesitate to do it again
HumanEarth · F
Why?
Thrust · 56-60, M
I did. It's not painful but very uncomfortable. It will restore 2020 vision but you will need readers glasses
Bleak · 36-40, F
My father had it done. Not something to worry about.
Prince0217 · M
