What might you do?

My sister had a root canal done couple months ago. (Just the first part when they extract the nerve) They could not do the final sealing of it because it started hurting. They said it can't be inflamed, hurting or tender to completely finish the crown part.
They believe because her diabetes has been so irregulated, it's causing the tooth not to heal.
She has two choices, have the tooth extracted or see if they can retreat it.

She's going to talk with the doctor tomorrow about the pros and cons of either choice. In the meantime what would you do?

My wife WAS going in for root canal but next day decided for extraction, much to the dentists' dismay. That cost £60 and R.C. was £800 I encouraged the RC but she saw the price. The dentist was only dismayed as he was an Indian and we didn't take the expensive option. A white man would have said "No problem, it is up to u" in an encouraging manner.

Apart from price another CON is RC doesn't always heal tooth from pain as 2 others told us. Pain will come back within months so it is a risk. The 3rd con is after extraction the dentist will show u the tooth and it can be in a wonderful condition! You're just saying bye to it.

Pro: extraction once done, pain permanently gone.
Getting a replacement tooth (denture) is gonna be a whole lot cheaper.
