I wonder if it’s worth it

I just finished another run with no improvement. According to google my low cortisol levels make me both weaker and prevent me from getting stronger and improving. So I literally can’t improve my fitness which makes me wonder why Im doing this. It’s gonna take months to finally see a doctor and maybe just maybe get some treatment. So should I even bother until then?

I myself am no medical professional, so interpret this as you will -

If you look at most exercise programs, it says to consult a physician before starting.

Since you are having issues, then it might be necessary to talk to your doctor.

Yeah that might be a few months but in the meantime, do not neglect exercise or movements completely.

I assume from this line that you are a pretty hard runner?

@Captainjackass Like I said, I am no medical professional, hopefully the doctor can offer a solution.

But yeah, these fitness influencers, whether men or women, do have certain advantages that Joe and Jane average do not. Taking steroids is not the answer, I hear those do more harm than good.

@HoeBag I’d never take steroids especially because Im freaked out by needles but really it’s the only way to look like that. Taking enough protein everyday isn’t enough especially because it’s damn hard to eat and drink that much.

Fortunately for me there’s a solution to my weakness as well as possibly some of my psychological issues. Its just gonna take a while to get it.

@Captainjackass Your profile does not say where you are from, I just looked because it seems a bit unusual to have to wait several months to be seen by a doctor. I know some countries are like that.

I think with athletes and really anyone of whatever discipline - people often have unrealistic hopes and expectations because of what we see in the media or what these "Standardized" charts say.

Then we look at our own progress and feel like it is "not enough".

If someone is over age 30 and following any sort of exercise routine, they are doing better than the rest of us. So give yourself some credit for that. 🙂

Could be the sleep thing? When I used to have chronic insomnia I could only run like super early in the morning because I was on the edge of being hyper.
Captainjackass · 31-35, M
@SmoKin it’s the same even when I manage to get a good nights sleep.

@SmoKin doubtful. I changed my diet to a very healthy one this month but no change.
