So it's official

Joel was been diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia. He's not very happy about it either. They want him to get a continuous glucose monitor because him doing it testing on his fingers was really hurting his hands. That's next on the list but the doctor was more worried about this first.

His doctor is putting his on Acarbose as well to help keep his level normal.

He also got some fast acting glucose tablets.

One nice thing is he will now have an appointment to keep track of his blood sugar and won't have to write it down. He still needs to keep track of his meals for two weeks and will go back to the doctor to see how he's doing.

So I'm glad we have some answers and know what is going on.

Good luck.

I have the opposite, type two diabetes, and am on Ozempic to lower my blood glucose (it increases insulin production, reduces liver sugar release, and slows down digestion).

I see my doctor in 2 hours. She will probably take my A1C. It is down, yet still high "prediabetic" right now.

I arrived super early so now I am killing time in my car, waiting.

Yeah, I have high blood pressure, too, so need to relax before they put the cuff on. I take pills for that, too.

Pills pills pills...

We're all getting to the ages where we need to see the doctor no matter how good we feel
Cigarguy · M
@MarineBob he's not a fan of going to the doctor in the first place so being told something is wrong really didn't make him happy

Is it another type of diabetes, or part of type 2? Does it go low frequently?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Coralmist They are now saying that there are 5 types of diabetes.
Cigarguy · M
@Coralmist he has tested and he is not diabetic.
